Many people were excited to hear that the core of the .Net framework is is now open source.
We are excited too, and we decided to port VyOS to .Net. To avoid having to choose among multiple languages that target .Net, we have selected VisualBasic as the primary language.
The current CLI will be replaces by an ASP.Net-based web GUI. In the future we may use Silverlight for the client part.
