Hello, community!
VyOS 1.2.9-S1 maintenance and security release is now available for download to everyone. We planned 1.2.9 to become the last 1.2.x release unless a remotely exploitable vulnerability was discovered. Thankfully, that hasn’t happened yet, but we found that Freexian extended LTS repositories had updates to the base packages that weren't in 1.2.9, including OpenSSL and sudo, so we decided to bring those updates to the community.
As promised, all pre-built images of legacy 1.2.x/Crux releases are now available to the public rather than just to contributors and subscribers. However, we’d like to remind everyone that we are happy to share the current LTS release with everyone who contributes to VyOS — if you don’t have a contributor subscription yet, please fill out the form to apply!
There was also a lot of work done on the 1.3/Equuleus LTS branch, and we are already working on the 1.3.3 release. It will feature multiple bug fixes and feature backports. There are more rewards coming for contributors, too, so stay tuned for updates!
