Border router upgrade

We’ve just upgraded the AS5612 border router from VC6.5 to VyOS 1.0.0. AS5612 is the network where our primary servers are.

It went pretty smooth, peer-group neighbors got up just fine, and overall we had like 10 minutes disruption. Not that is wasn’t any stressful for us though, any operation like this is.

That was the last VC installation there, so now VyOS is sort of self-hosted.

On a side note, I always find it quite entartaining to watch how the route gradually disappears from the Internet and suddenly comes back when you reload a BGP edge. Like this:
